The fact that birds' feathers are actually modified scales is a playful triumph of evolution.

Growing up in the Central American tropics amidst exotica has no doubt informed my work, but imagine landing on earth from another galaxy and witnessing these extraordinary creatures for the first time! This distinction heightens my awareness of natural phenomena on Earth and inspires me to promote their preservation.

The bird series is ongoing and is currently focused on the birds of paradise found in Papua New Guinea.
